ELITEXC: HEAT – Kimbo lost (not to Shamrock)
Kimbo lost.
But it was not to Ken Shamrock. In a bizarre turn of events, Shamrock had to relinquish his spot in the main event due to a cut sustained earlier in the day, and Seth Petruzelli stepped in from his spot in a preliminary light-heavyweight bout.
It took, by Joe’s count, 12 seconds for Petruzelli to TKO Slice, first using a straight elbow on a shoot, and then pouncing on his downed opponent.
“I guess I have to thank Ken Shamrock for this,” Petruzelli quipped to a large throng of media in the post-fight press conference. “If he wanted a rematch, I would definitely give it to him. That’s only fair. But I would come in about 20 pounds heavier and would not have to cut all this damn weight.”
In the other matches, Jake Shields retained his welterweight belt over Paul Daley with a second-round armbar, Andrei Arlovski won via second-round TKO over Roy “Big Country” Nelson, Gina Carano won a unanimous decision against Kelly Kobald, Benji Radach won with a second-round TKO over Murilo “Ninja” Rua, and Cristiane Cyborg pounded out a unanimous decision against Yoko Takahashi.
We’ll get back to you after the partying…

Kimbo was exposed. He cannot handle himself in MMA and is just not equal to the hype. If he loses the rematch, which he will, I’d look for the mainstream fan to figure that out as well.
