Matt Mitrione is portrayed as a psychothat had no real chance in his fight against Scott Junk, but perhaps the magic of being selected by Team Rashad was enough to push him over the edge – in terms of the fight and not of his mental state.

Mitrione rocked Junk early in the fight, keeping the UFC veteran in a fog through a dominating first round.  In the second round, it appeared to many that Junk did enough to take it and force a decisive third round, but Mitrione was awarded a majority decision – 20-18 twice and 19-19 on the other card.

The fight was a stand-up war that did not feature any prolonged ground work outside of a few takedowns and some ground-and-pound delivered by Junk to Mitrione, who held guard and was not passed.

It gave Team Rashas seven wins in as many bouts, leaving Marcus “Big Baby” Jones as Team Rampage’s final hope in Episode 8, in which he will face UFC veteran Mike Wessel.
