BAS RUTTEN talked about his protege, KIMBO SLICE, on The Rear Naked Choke, Featuring Joe & Ted.
“He was lucky the ref did not stop the fight,” Bas told Joe & Ted in the candid and animated interview.

Bas was referring to the end of the second round, when Kimbo was being grounded-and-pounded by James Thompson. Regarding the result of the fight, Bas said he felt that considering Kimbo’s minimal professional experience and training, he thought it was a good result.
This was a ground-breaking show for The Rear Naked Choke, as Joe & Ted used this show as the jumping-off point for their expanded coverage of all MMA promotions. Of course, this remains the No. 1 place for IFL news - but now fans of other MMA promotions can look forward to hearing about the backgrounds of their favorite fighters, trainers and personalities.
This show featured Joe & Ted talking about the WEC card, which included the featherweight bout between “The California Kid” Urijah Faber and “Lil Evil” Jens Pulver, and the remainder of the EliteXC card that was televised on CBS.
There was a great debate about Gina Carano, who was impressive in pounding Kaitlin Young but for the fourth time in six career MMA fights weighed in over the limit. The crew is diligently working to get Gina on the show. Did you know that Ted sat next to her dad, Glen Carano, at the EliteXC event? Ted went as a fan, Joe stayed back and criticized the CBS coverage along with Producer Debbie.
