Reese was impressive in his IFL fights and is coming off an elbow injury for his much-anticipated UFC fight against Vera at light heavyweight (205 pounds). It will be shown live July 19 on Spike TV and is scheduled as the fight before the headliner featuring Anderson Silva.

A standout collegiate wrestler, Reese has been comfortable giving up significant weight while fighting heavyweight. Vera has been giving up weight fighting as a heavyweight in the UFC and is the favorite in this match.

Mike C just pulled off the feat of winning a light-heavyweight fight one night and coming back the next night at heavyweight to pull off an old-school double.

Find out how he decided to even attempt doing it, and what Mike C has in store for his future. And there is sure to be some talk about Ben Rothwell and peanut butter!

Who Will Win at UFC Fight Night 14?

  • Reese Andy (67%, 33 Votes)
  • Brandon Vera (33%, 16 Votes)

Total Voters: 49

With Joe & Ted & The RNC crew looking on at ringside the Meadowlands April 4, Bad Brad Blackburn came through with a bang.

Bad Brad was in trouble after losing the first two rounds to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master Delson Heleno and he needed a knockout in the third round to win.

He got it.

RESULTS:

Jay Hieron defends welterweight belt over Mark Miller, TKO 2:10 Round 1

Wagnney Fabiano defends featherweight belt over Shad Lierley, KO :30 Round 1

Vladimir Matyushenko defends light heavyweight belt over Jamal Patterson, TKO 3:20 Round 2

Brad Blackburn defeats Delson Heleno via KO at 1:50 Round 3.

Alex Schoenauer defeats Brendan Barrett at light heavyweight via split decision

LC Davis defeats Rafael Dias at featherweight via knockout (leg kick) at 3:56 Round 3

Chris Horodecki defeats Nate Lamotte at lightweight via unanimous decision.

Jim Miller defeats Bart Palaszewski at lightweight via unanimous decision.

Emyr Bussade defeats Jesse Lennox via tapout due to submission on kneebar at 1:25 Round 2.

Carmelo Marrero vs. Mike Ciesnolevicz ruled no contest due to accidental headbbut cut on Marrero at 1:37 Round 1.

What you might not know is that The Rear Naked Choke video squad was behind the scenes with Bad Brad from the time he got off the plane! To watch the inside story behind one of the greatest in-fight comebacks in IFL history, keep track of www.joeted.com and listen to The RNC.

Prior to settling in for the fights, Joe & Ted had Ring Girls and Big(gest) Losers. Oh yeah, and fighters, too!

Ring Girl Lauren Urso, who was one of the winners of the IFL/NY Post Ring Girl contest, was the first guest and got things (and Ted) heated up in a hurry.

The massive Conan Silveira from American Top Team talked about coming from Brazil to Miami and gave some good intel on his fighters.

Jim Germanakos from The Biggest Loser stepped in. Jim is a big MMA fan and knows a thing or two about dropping weight and getting into shape. His brother, Bill, won the title after 17 weeks on the ranch. Jim stayed for six weeks and Bill for the entire 17.

Then it got to the fighters, with Deividas Taurosevicius and Mike Massenzio, both of whom will be fighting on the IFL’s May 16 card at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.

Deividas’ wrist injury kept him from fighting in the Meadowlands but he has been cleared to battle for the lightweight title against Ryan “The Lion” Schultz. Deividas is from Lithuania and recounted his professional athletic start as a rugby player.

Massenzio, who will be making his IFL debut at Mohegan Sun, capped it off by talking about his amazing New Jersey high school wrestling career and his current role as a high school coach and MMA fighter. He was 142-13 in high school and is now 10-1 in MMA!

Rory Markham and LC Davis join Joe & Ted on a special episode – the Miletich Fighting Systems Love-In Show (MFSLIS).

Pat Miletich was slated to be on but could not make it, and Rory was a little late, so the guys had to carry it for a while.

But once they got started, it was on fire! ON FIRE!

Rory was spectacular, even though he talked about how the flu wreaked havoc with his insides.

LC kept it going and also got line of the night (hear it right at the beginning of the show). LC also starred in the “Unnamed Name That Segment” with Ted!

HISTORY
LC was on with Waggney Fabiano. He rocked it. Listen to it here:

LC’s first appearance

LC’s first appearance is the benchmark for the live stream and chat. His peeps were out in droves and helped shatter RNC participation records. We know a lot of you are going to want to listen live and establish a new record.

Rory’s past appearances remain some of our most consistently downloaded shows. The bar is set high this time, as his pals Mike C. and Bartimus were off the charts on the previous show. Did you know Rory once hosted the show (in its previous incarnation as The RON Show)? Well, he did. Czech it out right here:

ST. PATRICK’S DAY SPECIAL:
Mike C. & Bartimus gang up on Ben Rothwell & his peanut butter!

Listen to the Show

Mike Ciesnolevicz & Bart(imus) Palaszewski joined Joe & Ted on a very special St. Patrick’s Day special of The Rear Naked Choke!

Mike C. and Bart both are fun-loving guys who are not afraid to throw a prank or two out there. Hear them talk about some of their best exploits.

It turned into a recap of the all-time best material in which Ben Rothwell was the target. There was plenty of talk about Ben and peanut butter. It’s likePunk’d meets the Jamie Kennedy Experiment meets MMA!

Mike C. carried subjects from Playboy to reality TV to the presence of Bryan Vetell at Miletich Fighting Systems.

Bart broke the news that his opponent, Deividus Taurosevicius, is injured and will not be able to compete. At show time no opponent was named.

Bart did “Name That Segment” and attempted to name it “20 Questions” – there actually were 16 this time!

There is some strong language in this one, so be careful around the kiddies or at work!!!

The Gunderson Gurgle
Mark Miller’s Nicknames
Plus: GeoCaching and Strat-O-Matic Baseball?

Listen to the Show

We’re Marching through March – the best month in the history of The Rear Naked Choke.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING AND SPREADING THE WORD! PLEASE KEEP IT UP!

Last week, big-time RNC fan and IFL lightweight John Gunderson joined the guys and discussed his injury status and the impending surgery on his knee that will keep him sidelined for at least a half-year.

Guns is now forced to cater full-time to soccer moms at LA Boxing. Hear him explain why, and hear how he almost escaped Ryan Schulz’s guillotine choke using a gurgling trick he learned from Bas Rutten, along with what he thinks about the whole Couture/Fedor controversy.Besides being Ted’s new passion, do you know what Geo Caching is? Ted fills us in about this growing niche activity in the first of two middle segments.

In the second segment, we are reminded how much Ted hates Riz’s music and ponders how they ever, ever became friends. Kitch wonders the same thing all the time. Riz is nothing if not persuasive. After calling out Kitch on the air about not knowing who Peter Murphy & Bauhaus are while they were battling the Doodlebops in Vegas, Kitch actually went out onto iTunes and bought the latest Bauhaus album, entitled “Go Away White”. He reports, “I actually like it, despite myself.”

Of course, big-time fan that he is, Joe did not even know about the album. Pfft. One up for The Kitch.

Other topics include Joe’s obsession with Strat-O-Matic baseball and how he managed to win a big ass trophy that his wife HATES.

Finally, producer Debbie, fed up with Joe talking about Strat, got Mark Miller on the line. Mark talked about the solid base of fighters at Midwest Combat, his stunning knockout of Josh Neer and his total indifference to ring girls. Find out why a machine gunner works at a gym, too.

Plus – Ted introduced a new segment with Mark. We need your help naming it!!! Drop us a line at TheRNC@joeted.com or shoot us a myspace.

Also, get your ass out to the theater and see our buddy Sean Faris’ movie, Never Back Down. And then come back and listen to his last appearance on The RNC!
