RNC Radio: UFC 108 winner Sam Stout, Bellator signee Georgi Karakhanyan

UFC 108 fight of the night winner Sam Stout and Bellator signee Georgi Karakhanyan joined Examiner.com MMA writer Joe Rizzo and guest co-host Hector Castro of MMA Madness on Rear Naked choke Radio from LA Boxing in Paramus, NJ.

Sam was back in Canada after his upset victory over Joe Lauzon in Las Vegas over the weekend.  The decisive unanimous decision earned Sam a $50,000 ($51,765 Canadian) bonus.  That should help pay for the beers he and his friends were headed out to drink after the show to celebrate.

Georgi signed earlier in the day with Bellator and will be fighting in their 145-pound tournament.  His first fight is scheduled for April 8.  Georgi used to be a professional soccer player and discussed the odd career transition to combat sports.

RNC Radio: TUF 10 recap with a tiny bit of champ Roy Nelson and Georgi Karakhanyan

Roy “Big Country” Nelson, the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 10 with a tremendous knockout of Brendan ted-sweetroy-joe.jpg Schaub, was scheduled for Rear Naked Choke Radio, but a technical issue limited the guest time.  Examiner.com MMA writer Joe Rizzo and Ted Takvorian also talked briefly to up-and-coming featherweight Georgi Karakhanyan.

Instead, Joe and Ted carried the conversation with a discussion about the TUF 10 finale card, especially what the fights of Nelson and Kimbo Slice meant to the UFC, MMA and the fighters.

As always, Joe and Ted streamed live from LA Boxing in Paramus, NJ.  Come down to meet the guys and talk to owner Peter Rivera anytime about signing up for a membership or becoming part of the growing Fight Team program!
